Ready and waiting for you at the Zell am See/Kaprun Europa Sport Region for your skiing pleasure are 56 modern ski lifts - and all accessed with one ski pass. From black pistes to children’s practice slopes, it’s all here, and you couldn’t start out at a better place than at the Glocknerhof: just 5 minutes on foot to the nursery slopes and the Areitbahn cable car station for access to the Schmittenhöhe ski resort. The stop for the ski bus to the glacier ski resort of Kaprun is just 50 m from the hotel, and the winter footpaths and cross-country ski runs in this region are easily accessible on foot. Ski passes can be obtained at Reception and the Skimobile service calls at the hotel.

The Schmittenhöhe is a top draw for discerning ski fans from all over the world. You’ll find some of the jewels among Alpine ski pistes here on the 2,000 m mountain, not to mention fabulous views of a number of 3,000 m peaks. From the summit, you can descend directly towards Schüttdorf (the South descent through the snowed-up valley is negotiable until early April). And it really doesn’t matter whether you’re working on an ambitious move or only on skis for a few days and still a little shy. All routes guarantee an authentic Alpine mountain experience, a wide range of the region’s natural life and a wealth of pleasure for little ones and grown-ups alike.
